The Super Eagles’ expulsion from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after losing to Ghana’s Black Stars, according to Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba, is needed for Nigeria to realize it is in a ‘hell hole.’
At the MKO Abiola Stadium on Tuesday, the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers between Nigeria and Ghana ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Black Stars qualified for the World Cup on away goals after a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg in Kumasi last week.
Uchemba added that missing out on the World Cup would cause Nigeria to channel its anger and pay serious attention to the country’s challenges, citing the recent attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train and increased insecurity.
“Perhaps it’s a good thing we lost so we can focus our rage on the country’s most critical issue. Almost 1000 Nigerian individuals are missing, and some people are acting as if this is a common occurrence.
“If losing a game is what it takes to get us upset enough to realize we’re in a hole, so be it.” Some heads of state have yet to comment on the matter. Uchemba remarked on Instagram, “I guess they’re busy organizing for the 2023 elections.”
The qualification of Ghana’s Black Stars won them one of five African tickets to this year’s event, which will be held in Qatar.
