Martin Keown, a former Arsenal player, has blamed Antonio Rudiger for Chelsea’s Premier League 4-1 loss to Brentford on Saturday.
Brentford overcame Chelsea thanks to three goals from Vitaly Janelt (2), Christian Eriksen, and Yoane Wissa. Keown described Rudiger’s clearance as “terrible.”
Rudiger scored for Thomas Tuchel’s side, but Chelsea went on to lose the game in the second half, with Rudiger scoring the game’s last goal.
“It’s a horrible clearance from Rudiger,” Keown commented after the game on the BBC’s Football Focus.
“Everything Brentford hits goes in the net, but Rudiger hasn’t emerged victorious from this.”
“It’s a panicked clearance from one of Europe’s greatest defenders.”
Chelsea’s next match is a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
