Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United’s interim manager, has listed the players who will miss his team’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
Rangnick stated that Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay would not play against Tottenham because he does not want to take any chances.
Rangnick’s team is coming off a 4-1 loss to Manchester City in their most recent Premier League match.
“Luke [Shaw] will still be out,” Rangnick revealed at his pre-game press conference. He was continuing testing positive [for Covid] until yesterday, despite the fact that he was negative today. It doesn’t make sense to have him in the squad for this game without having trained and having some symptoms. He might be a candidate for Tuesday, but he’ll be out for tomorrow’s game.
“Behind Scott McTominay, there’s also a question mark. We didn’t let him train because he experienced calf troubles after training the day before and the day before. I don’t want to risk playing him tomorrow with this kind of injury right now, so those two will most likely be out.”
Man United are currently in the 5th position on the Premier League table behind Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
The kick-off time for Man United vs Tottenham is 6.30 pm.
