On Sunday, Egypt rallied from behind to defeat Morocco 2-1 in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
As the seven-time winners advanced to the final four, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah equalized and then set up the victory for the Pharaohs.
As a result of this result, Egypt now holds the record for most semi-final appearances.
They have eclipsed Nigeria’s record by reaching the semi-finals for the 16th time.
Salah and his teammates will now face Cameroon in the final on Thursday.
Egypt is making its first appearance in the semi-finals since the 2017 edition.
