One terrorist was killed by security officers in Hayin Gada, Shika ward, Giwa local government area of Kaduna State, while others were repulsed from the neighborhood.
The attackers assaulted the community on Friday night, according to 360 MEDIA.
According to a source who requested anonymity, a small group of terrorists entered the area about 11 p.m. on Friday, but were met with resistance from security officers already stationed.
Terrorist acts, such as kidnapping and murder, have recently increased in the Giwa local government region.
Following military bombardment in Zamfara and Katsina states, the local government territory has reportedly become home to terrorists fleeing the surrounding area.
According to the source, Shika ward houses the ABU Teaching Hospital and the National Animal Production Research Institute, as well as many of their employees.
He claimed that one of the criminals died in a gunfight with security personnel while attempting to flee.
Mr.Katung, a staff member of the National Animal Production Research Institute, NAPRI, Shika, and his two children, he said, were rescued by security officers.
