As the Muslim Ummah enters the Holy Month of Ramadan, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has congratulated all Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Ummah.
“Ramadan is the month when Muslims around the world observe one of the five pillars of their faith, share with their neighbors, and express love to all those around them,” the Nation’s Chief Lawmaker remarked on his personal Facebook page.
“It is a time for spiritual thought, abstinence, sacrifice, and supplications to Allah.”
“The holy month of Ramadan thus gives the faithful with an opportunity to commune with Allah and live as His Prophets have commanded while we seek His blessings and mercies.”
“As we seek solutions and divine guidance to the issues that our dear nation is currently facing, the essence of the period is even more vital for us.”
He went on to say that the Nigerian government is doing everything it can to improve the situation, but that much more has to be done.
“The National Assembly will not give up on fostering good governance for Nigeria’s security, peace, and progress.”
“For our Muslim brothers and sisters, let us utilize Ramadan to pray for Nigeria, knowing that Allah hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.”
He wrote, “I wish you all a nice Ramadan.”
