Samuel Kalu, a new Watford signing, has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Eden Hazard of Real Madrid helped him develop as a professional footballer.
Kalu stated this after completing his transfer to Watford from Bordeaux in the French Ligue 1 on Wednesday.
The Nigerian winger expressed his admiration for Ronaldo and Hazard, adding that he enjoys watching them play.
“I’m the kind of player who plays like Eden Hazard, I respect him a lot,” Kalu, who was presented on Wednesday evening, told Watford’s official website. Cristiano Ronaldo is another player I follow.
“I pay a lot of attention to these two guys because they help me develop as a professional football player.”
“I’m familiar with [Emmanuel] Dennis and [William] Troost-Ekong because we played together at Gent. I’m also acquainted with [Peter] Etebo. We used to be teammates in the national team.”
“They’ll be a huge assistance to me.” I ran into Dennis and Etebo, who were overjoyed to see me. “I’m sure they’ll assist me in settling in at the club,” the 24-year-old continued.
