Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has stated that Sergio Ramos deserves respect after being booed by the club’s fans during Sunday’s encounter against FC Lorient.
After going onto the pitch against Lorient at the Parc des Princes, Ramos was booed by a portion of PSG fans.
Since joining PSG on a free transfer from Real Madrid last summer, the experienced centre-back has had an injury-plagued debut season.
Ramos’ outing against Lorient was only his sixth for PSG in all competitions so far this season.
PSG has just eight games left this season after being knocked out of the Coupe de France and the Champions League.
Pochettino believes that the frustration of PSG fans was not intended especially at Ramos, as he stated after the game.
“Everyone is affected.” Pochettino was reported by PSGTalk as saying, “I think it’s the supporters’ frustration with the result, I don’t think it’s directed against him, he’s a fantastic champion, and he deserves respect like all the players in Paris Saint-Germain.”
PSG overcame Lorient thanks to a goal from Lionel Messi and braces from Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
