Michael Essien, a former Chelsea midfielder, has wished Ghana’s Black Stars well ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff match against Nigeria in Kumasi on Friday night.
Essien, a former captain of the Black Stars, revealed the news in a tweet on Friday.
“Good luck @GhanaBlackstars #ComeOnBoy,” he tweeted.
Following tonight’s match, Nigeria will host Ghana in Abuja on Tuesday for the second leg.
After both legs, the champion will advance to the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan, another former Black Stars captain, has advised the players to approach their match against Nigeria like wounded lions.
