Donny van de Beek, the new Everton signing, has explained why he chose the club over Manchester United.
Van de Beek stated that he joined Everton on loan for the remainder of the season in order to assist the club in climbing the Premier League table.
Everton is presently ranked 16th in the Premier League standings.
On transfer deadline day, Frank Lampard’s side signed Van de Beek on loan from Manchester United.
Van de Beek told Everton’s official website after the loan move was completed on Monday, “I want to demonstrate my abilities, my strengths, to the people in England – but especially the Everton fans.”
“Now that I am an Everton player, I am ecstatic and can’t wait to support the squad,” he continued.
“I think it’s a fantastic club… There are some really talented players here, and I came to assist them in moving up the table.
“I want to contribute my football skills, my passing, and, of course, my goal-scoring.”
