Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Leicester City, has stated that Wilfried Ndidi is “worth more than £50 million,” as the player is linked with a move to Aston Villa.

Manchester United and other elite clubs are interested in Ndidi, who joined the Foxes from Genk in 2017.

The 25-year-old Nigerian midfielder is now a key target for Villa manager Steven Gerrard, who is expected to authorise a £50 million bid next summer.

“He’s worth far more than that,” Rodgers stated during a press conference on Wednesday when told the sum.

Rodgers also acknowledged that good players always draw attention, but believes Ndidi is content at the King Power Stadium.

“It’s both of those things — it’s just the way things are.”

“Of course, you want to maintain a player of that caliber and mentality, but once you have him, he will always attract interest.”

“However, he appears to be at ease here.” I know he’s moved into a new home and appears to be very content. He’s a joy to work with, and hopefully he’ll stay with the club for a long time,” Rodgers continued.
