Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, the former captain of the Nigerian Super Eagles, has announced the country he will be rooting for in this year’s World Cup.
Following the draw for the 2022 World Cup on Friday, Okocha singled out Senegal as a team to watch.
In Group A, the African champions are joined by shots Qatar, Ecuador, and the Netherlands.
When asked if an African country may finally win the trophy this time, Okocha said yes.
“We’ve come a long way,” the former PSG and Bolton Wanderers player answered. We’ll see how things turn out this year.
When asked whose team he will be rooting for, Okocha responded, “Senegal.”
