‘Honey,’ By John Legend And Muni Long, Enters The R&B Top 10. John Legend returns to R&B radio’s top ten for the first time this year. His Muni Long-assisted single “Honey” reaches No. 9 on the format, formerly known as urban adult contemporary. It’s the 12x Grammy winner’s first top ten hit from the LEGEND album cycle.

Legend last placed in this region with “U Move, I Move,” featuring Jhené Aiko, in the winter of 2020. The song appeared on his Grammy-winning 2020 album Bigger Love, released on Columbia Records.

For Long, “Honey” stamps her second career top ten single at R&B radio. Her viral, breakthrough single “Hrs and Hrs” floated to No. 2 on the airplay-driven format. The platinum-selling tune performed better on urban radio, soaring to No. 1 in April.

Let’s go back to “Honey.” Released on June 17, the delicious track was named the second single from Legend’s forthcoming Republic Records debut LEGEND, due Sept. 9.

‘Honey,’ By John Legend And Muni Long, Enters The R&B Top 10. His double album also features the two previously shared songs, “Dope” featuring JID and the Saweetie-assisted “All She Wanna Do.” Both tracks have accompanying visuals.

Additional guest appearances on LEGEND include Jazmine Sullivan, Ty Dolla $ign, Amber Mark, Ledisi and Rick Ross.

Speaking on the album title, Legend explained, “Until this point, I’ve never used an aspect of my name as the title of an album. I had to earn that, to live up to it by delivering in the performance and the music. And this is me saying, I’m proud of who I am, I’m confident in the work I’ve done, and I’m just going to declare it.”

Following the release of his upcoming album, Legend will resume his Love In Las Vegas residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Oct. 14. It will conclude Oct. 29.

Before he returns to Las Vegas, Nevada, this fall, Legend will retake his seat as a judge on NBC’s The Voice. Sullivan will serve as his battle advisor for season 22, which debuts Monday, Sept. 19.

In other news, Legend recently earned a platinum certification from the RIAA for his “Beauty and the Beast” duet with Ariana Grande. It marks his first certification since collecting eight this spring.
