Real Madrid will be missing captain Karim Benzema for Sunday’s match against Barcelona.
The striker from France has a calf problem and will miss the El Clasico.
After scoring a brace in their 3-0 win over Mallorca on Monday, Benzema was injured.
On Saturday, the 34-year-old was unable to exercise with his Real Madrid teammates in their final session before the high-profile match.
With 22 goals and 11 assists, Benzema is now the top scorer in LaLiga.
His absence will be a setback for Madrid, who are chasing the title.
“We don’t take any chances.” [Benzema] won’t be able to play tomorrow because he hasn’t trained, and he is in pain.
“It’s only a minor injury… One of the options is [Gareth Bale]. Mariano [Diaz], [Luka] Jovic, and I’ve also played Isco and Rodrygo there. There are numerous options available.
“Karim is 34, anything may happen.” It doesn’t bother me because we have two weeks to work with him now. On Saturday, Ancelotti added, “We have time to make him fit for the rest of the season.”
