Gary Neville, a former Manchester United captain, claims that certain players at the club want their teammates to fail.

Despite their thrilling 3-2 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, Neville believes there are still “huge difficulties” in the dressing room.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick at Old Trafford helped Manchester United retake fourth place.

“I think there are enormous difficulties in that dressing room, I truly do at this moment in time, between the individuals in the dressing room that exist,” Neville told Sky Sports.

“I don’t think it’s really good. To be fair, if Tottenham had taken the lead at any stage during the game, it would have capitulated swiftly.

“I don’t think there’s a deep spirit in that dressing room that you see in games.” The performances are inconsistent.

“When you watch Ralf Rangnick’s interviews, you get the idea…”

that he isn’t enjoying himself on the team, and that it isn’t in his name, spirit, or style of play.

“He’s just trying to get through the season as best he can and perform the best job he can, and he’s plastering over major scrapes and wounds,” says the coach.
