POLITICS: If Matawalle vacates office and returns as an ordinary member, we will forgive him – Zamfara PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has indicated that Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle will be pardoned on the condition that he vacates his position for Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, the state’s former Deputy Governor, and returns to the party as an ordinary member.

In a press conference in Gusau, the PDP’s State Secretary, Ahmad Farouq Shettima Rigiya, expressed optimism that the party would recapture the mandate it had lost to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

“The lawsuit is already before a court of competent jurisdiction, and we are not scared to fight it to the finish,” he continued.

Matawalle should return to the party, according to Rijiya, in order to avoid the same fate as David Umahi.
