Prince William and Prince Harry were among the first to learn that Queen Elizabeth II would name Camilla as the future Queen Consort after Prince Charles informed them.
The Prince of Wales is said to have “personally” called the Duke of Sussex to inform him that the Queen prefers the Duchess of Cornwall to be referred to as Queen Consort instead of Princess Consort. He allegedly spoke to his two boys in the weeks leading up to their grandmother’s Platinum Jubilee anniversary.
Her Majesty’s decision is thought to be supported by Prince William, who supports his stepmother. “The duke is supportive,” a royal source told the Daily Mail, despite the fact that the decision must not “have been easy for him,” considering his past with the Duchess of Cornwall.
“As everyone found their feet in the early years of Charles and Camilla’s marriage, there were major family squabbles.” “William didn’t have the finest connection with his father back then,” the source continued, “but he sees how Camilla has made his father happy, and it is something he has accepted.”
The relationship between Prince William and his father is now claimed to be “better than it has ever been.” He and Camilla aren’t particularly close, but “they get along perfectly well and are quite the blended family now,” he says.
According to the source, the duke “respects his grandmother and her judgment beyond all else.” It will be right for him if it is right for her.” Prince William, on the other hand, is said to be committed to Princess Diana’s legacy.
According to friends, he will never be bashful about talking about her, her accomplishments, and the treatment she suffered from the royals and the media. “But, as everyone says, time is a tremendous healer – in many different ways,” another insider added.
Camilla may have Prince William’s backing, but it’s unclear whether she also has Prince Harry’s approval. The Duke of Sussex’s feelings and reaction to the announcement that the Duchess of Cornwall will be Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes king are unknown. He and his wife Meghan Markle have yet to make a public statement on the news.
