The appearance of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s deputy, who is from the Ilaje Local Government Area, is said to have emboldened some thugs, who attempted to take the vote boxes, but were rejected by young people who refused to be intimidated.
One of the voters, a woman who appeared enraged by the situation, stated that no one would be allowed to remove any of the ballot boxes.

“He’s from the south, thus this isn’t his ward.” However, as a senior citizen, he came to keep an eye on things. How can he possibly be disbursing funds? He merely came to ask me questions, and I told him the election was calm,” he explained.
