Joe Biden, the President of the United States of America, urged private sector partners to strengthen their cyber defenses immediately on Monday.
The President cited new evidence indicating that Russia might conduct hostile cyber operations against the United States in a matter of days.
Biden, on the other hand, promised that his government will employ every weapon at its disposal to prevent, disrupt, and, if necessary, respond to cyberattacks on critical infrastructure.
According to CNN, the American president recognized in a statement on Monday that “the Federal Government can’t guard against this threat alone.”
“The private sector owns and operates the majority of America’s vital infrastructure, and critical infrastructure owners and operators must speed efforts to lock their digital doors,” the President added.
“The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the Department of Homeland Security has been actively working with organizations across the critical infrastructure to quickly exchange information and mitigation suggestions to assist safeguard their systems and networks.”
Biden stated that his administration has worked hard to strengthen the US national cyber defenses since taking office.
He stated that the US Congress has backed his administration’s efforts, but urged members of Congress to do more in this regard.
