Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is hesitant to sign the reworked Electoral Bill because the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is terrified of losing the general elections in 2023.
Ayu, speaking in Jos, Plateau State’s capital, on Thursday advised party members to be well prepared for the election by obtaining their Permanent Voters Card, or PVC.
He expressed confidence that his party would take over the country’s leadership in 2023, freeing the people from the current administration’s purported terrible governance.
The former Senate President urged PDP members in Plateau to ensure that the party wins the state’s governorship election.
“I want everyone to work together to bring back all of our people who left the PDP because they were upset.”
“Plateau is the home of the People’s Democratic Party; we must work together to reclaim power and save the country.” When we win the federal election, I don’t want Plateau to be in opposition.
“You must vote, acquire your PVC, and do the right thing.” Because our votes will be counted, the APC opposes election reform.
“President Buhari must sign the electoral act right away, making rigging elections impossible…”
