James Okereke Anyaogu, a candidate for governor in 2023, has expressed his displeasure with the tragic attack on the residence of Nnenna Ukeje-Elendu, an ex-member of the House of Representatives, in Alayi, Bende Local Government Area, Abia State.

The former member of the Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives, Nnenna Ukeje-Elendu, had his house burned down by unidentified hoodlums in Alayi, Bende Local Government Area of the State, according to 360 MEDIA.

Promise Uzoma Okoro, the Deputy Chairman of Abia’s Bende Local Government Area, verified the news in a statement.

Okoro revealed that the hoodlums broke into the residential house at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, and set fire to vehicles and other valuables in the structure.

In a statement signed and made accessible to journalists in Umuahia on Saturday, Anyaogu asked security agencies in the state to undertake a thorough inquiry into the terrible act’s perpetrators.

In the face of the provocation, he urged the residents of Alayi Community in Bende LGA, particularly the youths, to remain law-abiding and let security personnel to carry out their duties.

Anyaogu, who is also from the Alayi Bende village, believes that arson, incendiary attacks, and other premeditated acts of violent property damage have no place in Abia State in the twenty-first century.

In a same vein, the Akoliufu Alayi Development Union, the victim’s country-socio-cultural home’s umbrella, has clearly condemned the unwarranted intrusion and subsequent burning down of Nnenna Ukeje-residence Elendu’s by yet-to-be-identified arsonists.

Following their emergency meeting, the Development Union encouraged law enforcement officials to apprehend and prosecute individuals responsible for the heinous act, as well as their sponsors, without delay.

Chief Uchechukwu Kalu, the President-General, and Chief Mike Elendu, the Secretary-General, respectively, signed a communique outlining their positions on the heinous incident.

According to the union, “there’s no reason whatsoever, why such condemnable intrusion and the burning of our sister’s home should be thought of, much less carrying it out. The pictures uploaded depict the veracity of the despicable act by those monsters.

“Akoliufu Alayi Development Union Worldwide, will not tolerate such inhuman and nefarious act by those criminally minded arsonists or any other group(s) nursing such a feeling now or in the future”, the communique partly stated.
