Noble Igwe, a well-known media figure, has faulted society for not questioning wealth and so facilitating money rituals.

Igwe is one of many Nigerians who are concerned about a new trend of money ritual among the country’s youth.

Three teens confessed to killing and burning a little girl’s head for a money ritual, according to 360MEDIA.

Noble responded to the news in a thread on his Twitter account, saying that the source of riches, particularly on social media, is no longer questioned.

Churches accept donations, and families receive money from youngsters without questioning their source of riches, according to Style Icon.

“Every day, we are on different pages of individuals we know who can’t afford certain things shouting “God when” then come here to appear astonished that people are committing evil to ‘belong,” he wrote in one of his tweets. Nothing in our society is questioned as to where it comes from.

“In most clubs, bottle service is the sole option. They don’t offer cocktails or beer, and when individuals order pricey drinks, the music is turned off so that the drink(s) can be delivered to a single person or a group. To receive such treatment, people will kill or commit a crime.

“In a year, people will post three skits and then a house they recently bought. People would appear in two films before posting “new me, new house” on social media. The problem is that we applaud all kinds of dubious wealth.”

“Anyone with money can donate to the church, and anyone with money can be crowned by the community, no questions asked.” Families do not inquire about their children’s sources of income, and some may not care. Society is the one who feeds this beast.
