Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund has described Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool as the toughest defender he has ever faced.
In his short career for both club and country, Haaland has faced some of the best players in the world.
The 21-year-old has faced Van Dijk three times and has lost all three matches.
During his stint at Red Bull Salzburg, he was a part of two Champions League losses and a World Cup qualifying draw with Norway, in which he scored a goal.
“You know how tall he is, how powerful he is, and how swift he is, and you also know how crazy his timing is.”
In an interview, Haaland said, “I don’t think I’ve ever won a duel against him because he’s a physical monster.”
