The World Cup winner was jeered by unhappy local fans as he walked onto the red carpet with his father at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

According to ESPN, the Frenchman finished 6th in the Ballon d’Or voting behind Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, Kevin De Bruyne and Robert Lewandowski.
Mbappe Congratulates Benzema
Meanwhile, Mbappe has congratulated his compatriot Karim Benzema on winning the Ballon d’Or for the first time.
Benzema became the fifth Frenchman player to clinch the coveted individual award after edging competition from Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mane and Kevin De Bruyne.
And Benzema’s Les Bleus teammate Mbappe, who came in 6th for the Ballon d’Or, sent a message on his Instagram story.

Earlier, 360Media reported that Karim Benzema shared his crowning moment as the 2022 Ballon d’Or recipient with his mum and son on stage.
Benzema became the fifth French player to clinch the coveted individual diadem after edging competition from Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mane and Kevin De Bruyne.
The 34-year-old France international enjoyed a stunning 2021-22 campaign, scoring an eyewatering 44 goals in 46 games across all competitions.
