Julian Knight, a British Member of Parliament, has requested the UK government to provide Chelsea fans access to FA Cup semi-final tickets.

In April, Chelsea will play Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-final.

However, the Blues are unable to earn fresh cash, including from ticket sales, under the existing license issued by the UK government in response to club owner Roman Abramovich’s penalties.

Knight was cited by Sky Sport as saying, “It’s ludicrous that we face the potential of a half-full Wembley for the Chelsea vs Palace FA Cup semi-final.”

“Chelsea is more than just a club; it is a living organism with a big following and community. Last week’s game against Middlesbrough was understandably played without Chelsea fans because to the short notice, but with this much notice, the FA has no excuse for removing them.

“The FA should be permitted to sell Chelsea fans tickets as long as all proceeds go to the people of Ukraine.”
