Mohamed Salah of Liverpool has endorsed Egypt to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon in 2021.
The Egyptian skipper stated that the Pharaohs would go to whatever length to capture the AFCON championship in Cameroon in 2021.
Salah made this statement after leading his team to the AFCON quarter-finals.
Egypt qualified for the last eight of the AFCON round of 16 by defeating Ivory Coast 5-4 in a penalty shootout this week.
On Sunday, Carlos Queiroz’s team will face Morocco in the AFCON final eight.
“Of course, with the national team, I want to win something.” It is my home nation, which I adore. “This trophy would be absolutely different for me; it would be the one dearest to my heart,” Salah remarked following Egypt’s win over Ivory Coast on Wednesday.
“We came close to winning this African Cup [in 2017], we gave it our all, but we were not fortunate enough to win it.” But that’s fine; we’re now in the new one.
“We’ve got to fight for it, we’ve got to give it our all to win it, and I’m sure the players feel the same way.”
