Senegal forward Sadio Mane believes his team deserved to beat Burkina Faso and reach the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations final.
On Wednesday, the Teranga Lions scored three goals in the final 20 minutes of their semi-final match.
Abdou Diallo opened the scoring in the 70th minute with a close-range stab, before Bamba Dieng doubled the lead six minutes later.
In the 82nd minute, Blati Toure equalized, but Mane clinched the victory with a breakaway goal.
Senegal, who finished second in the previous tournament in 2019, will play either host Cameroon or Egypt in the final.
“We knew it wouldn’t be easy; after all, it was a Cup of Nations semi-final.”
“We were also up against a strong Burkina Faso team that caused us a lot of trouble.”
“We stayed calm and took our chances, and I believe we deserved to win,” Mane stated after the game.
