Richarlison Was Overcome With Emotion After Scoring A Brace On His Champions League Debut. The Brazilian attacker hit all the goals that inspired Antonio Conte’s side to the win in their first Champions League game of the season

Richarlison was flooded with emotion as he marked his Champions League debut with friends and family at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, fighting back tears after inspiring Antonio Conte’s side to an important win. The Brazilian scored his first goals for the London club in Wednesday night’s group stage affair, scoring two late headers to help Spurs defeat Marseille 2-0 in their first game of the competition.

It was a brilliant night for the Brazilian striker who joined Tottenham from Everton for a record $57.5M fee this summer. In what was his first-ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League, the 25-year-old forward starred alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in the attack, and was able to cap the night with the perfect display to add to Spurs’ impressive star to the season. The hosts had to wait until 14 minutes before full-time to break the deadlock against Marseille and it was well deserved as they had probed and pushed for a goal all night.

Richarlison was the man to fire them in front with a header and, five minutes later, the Brazilian international took his tally for the night to two by scoring Spurs’ second to secure the three points. Following the conclusion of the game, the night’s Man of the Match rushed over to section of the spectators in the stands and was greeted by family members who shook his hand and gave him a hug. However, he could not contain his emotions, eventually breaking in tears before covering his face with his hand and match shirt.
