Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United’s interim manager, has denied speculations linking Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel with the Red Devils’ managing position.

Man United has reportedly included Tuchel on its managerial target list of coaches to replace Rangnick at the end of the season, according to reports.

The Blues have been barred from negotiating new contracts, making transfers, and selling match tickets and merchandise as a result of the UK government’s penalties against Roman Abramovic.

Chelsea’s life will be difficult in the following days as a result of the sentence.

As a result, a slew of rumors have surfaced linking some players and the manager with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel has been connected with Manchester United in recent reports, as the Old Trafford club looks to select a permanent manager in the summer.

Rangnick said it’s pointless to speculate on such things just because Chelsea has ownership troubles at his pre-match news conference ahead of Man United’s Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.

“It makes no sense to even ponder or speculate about that,” he remarked. Thomas Tuchel is, without a doubt, a top manager. Yes, I am familiar with him. Yes, he was one of my Ulm teammates. Yes, he started his coaching career in Stuttgart, where I was the head coach at the time.”

Rangnick added: “We all know that but he is the manager of Chelsea right now, they’re third, they’re still in the [UEFA] Champions League and only because there are issues now around the ownership of this club, to speculate about maybe him being a candidate for the manager’s here in the summer doesn’t make sense to do that.”
