Manchester United Have Made A Brilliant Signing Again. Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag signed Casemiro from Real Madrid back in the summer transfer window.
Having previously missed out on Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, Manchester United have pulled off a major coup with the signing of Casemiro. The Brazil international was the best player on the pitch in Saturday night’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, with his late equaliser fully justified due to his storming showing at Stamford Bridge. Erik ten Hag knew his side required a defensive midfielder – and now the Red Devils arguably have the best in the business.
Manchester United spent the bulk of the summer transfer window pursuing a deal for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, believing the Ten Hag factor could bring the Netherlands international to Old Trafford.
Manchester United Have Made A Brilliant Signing Again. However, when it became apparent the former Ajax star wouldn’t be moving to Old Trafford, the Red Devils moved for Casemiro instead.
United were criticised at the time, with many believing £70million for a 30-year-old to be risky business – while there’s also the sense that Real Madrid rarely sell players in their prime.
But though fans have had to be patient, Casemiro has started to come good and is beginning to live up to the hype that surrounded his blockbuster arrival.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea was arguably the Brazil international’s best showing to date.
