Lionel Messi has been advised by former PSG winger Jerome Rothen to leave the French Ligue 1 giants once the summer transfer market opens.
Messi’s love story with PSG, according to Rothen, was not meant to be.
Messi joined PSG last summer after his contract with Barcelona was not renewed owing to LaLiga regulations.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has been chastised for his PSG performances so far this season.
The 34-year-old is now serving in Argentina on overseas duty.
However, according to Rothen, a shift in the mood will not help Messi, who was recently booed by PSG fans.
“Will his 10 days with Argentina make the remainder of the season better with PSG?” Rothen asked RMC (via Football.fr). I’m not convinced. His romance with PSG didn’t work out.
“I believe he should go in June for the benefit of everyone.” This is my point of view.”
