Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has acknowledged to being ‘weary.’
Pochettino said this after PSG was ousted from the Champions League round of 16 second-leg clash against Real Madrid in Spain a few days ago.
PSG led Real Madrid 2-0 with just under half an hour to play in the last-16 tie until Karim Benzema’s hat-trick inside 18 minutes turned the tie around.
Pochettino’s side had been cruising after goals from Kylian Mbappe early in the game, but they were unable to hold on despite controlling vast portions of both legs.
Pochettino has now said that he has trouble sleeping at night.
“How do I feel?” Pochettino said at his pre-match news conference ahead of PSG’s encounter against Bordeaux on Sunday, according to GetFootballNewsFrance. It irritates me.
“It irritates me because, when you break it down, the team was superior for the first leg and the first 60 minutes of the second leg.” Perhaps we deserved to lead by more goals, and the way it was taken away from us p***** me off – pardon my language.”
“It leaves a pretty sad impression and it’s hard to go on,” the former Tottenham boss remarked. I’m enraged and exhausted… It’s difficult to sleep at night, but we have a duty to keep going.”
