After defeating Morocco 2-1 in Cameroon on Sunday, Egypt qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-finals.
Morocco led 1-0 at halftime in the AFCON quarter-final match, due to a penalty from Sofiane Boufal.
Egypt drew 1-1 with Morocco after 90 minutes thanks to a second-half strike from Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
However, Egypt’s Trezeguet scored in the opening half of extra time to give his team a 2-1 advantage.
After 120 minutes, both teams seem unable to score in the second half of extra time, and the game finished 2-1.
The Pharaohs have become one of the favorites to win the AFCON in 2021.
