In the opening leg of the last 16 contest, Manchester City thrashed Sporting Lisbon 5-0, while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team overcame Inter Milan 2-0.

The Blues and the French Champions Lille have only faced once in European competition, in the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League.
Chelsea, led by Frank Lampard, won both of their group stage matches 2-1.
Chelsea have only lost one of their past ten European home games against French clubs, a 1-2 loss to PSG in March 2016.
Lille, the current French champions, are making their second appearance in the Champions League round of sixteen. The first was a two-legged loss to Manchester United in 2006-07, when they were beaten 1-0 at home and away by Sir Alex Ferguson’s Red Devils.
