Carlo Ancelotti Sends Strong Message to Players Scared of Picking Up Injuries Ahead of the World Cup. Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti didn’t mix words as he sent a brutal message to footballers afraid of picking up injuries ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Football stars such as Chelsea’s Reece James and Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto have seen their World Cup chances squashed through injury after picking up varying knocks.

Ancelotti, however believes injuries are a part of the game and any footballer who is scared of being injured should stay at home, Marca reports.

“Injuries exist in the world of football. If you don’t want to get injured, stay on the sofa.

“For now, everyone wants to train. If someone tells me they’re afraid, then they should stay at home, watching a TV series or a movie, there are plenty of them.”

Ancelotti admits his Real Madrid players are fully committed to the team’s course ahead of facing Champions League opponents RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti is not entirely happy with the congested football calendar ahead of the commencement of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Tribal Football reports.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Carlo Ancelotti etched his name in history books after becoming the first manager to successfully coach four different Ballon d’Or winners.

Karim Benzema became the fourth player that Ancelotti has managed during a Ballon d’Or winning season.

Benzema rounded off a brilliant year where together with Ancelotti, they won the Champions League and La Liga titles.
