FOOTBALL: Cameroon’s coach praises Salah and believes his squad will win the trophy on Sunday

Egypt captain Mohamed Salah has been lauded as one of the top players in the world by Cameroon coach Antonio Conceiçao.

On Sunday, Conceiçao claimed Cameroon would win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations or AFCON.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Cameroon’s AFCON semi-final encounter against Egypt on Thursday night, he stated this.

“Our goal is simple: to play well and go to the final,” Conceiçao stated.

“We’ll be up against a very excellent team in Egypt, Africa’s most successful team.

“They have a lot of good players, including Mohamed Salah, who is one of the greatest in the world.”

“My players are driven to succeed. “We are under positive pressure, but our goal is clear: to win the championship for the Cameroonian people,” he added.

Senegal, meanwhile, has qualified for the AFCON final, which will take place on Sunday night.

On Wednesday night, the Teranga Lions defeated Burkina Faso 3-1 in the semi-final match.
