Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff, members of the Barça board, were also present. One of the topics of conversation was Sergino Dest.
The English side are interested in the American full-back and intend to include his transfer in negotiations for Cesar Azpilicueta or Marcos Alonso, both of whom are wanted by the Catalan club.

However, as reported by ‘Sport’, Barça do not want to part ways with the player in this market and Dest does not want to leave the squad. Xavi Hernandez believes the American will play an important role in the team.
The Catalan coach wants to have two players per position and the right side of the defence would be well covered by the former Ajax player, pending the possible arrival of Azpilicueta or Marcos Alonso.
Dest will not be part of the negotiations with Chelsea and everything seems to indicate that he will stay at Barcelona, where Xavi plans to give him more opportunities at right-back. It remains to be seen if the Blues decide to make a million-pound offer for him or if they finally decide not to sign him.
