Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel and Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala have both expressed their displeasure with Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo’s move to Al Hilal.
Ighalo confirmed his transfer to Al Hilal from Al Shabab on Saturday.
“Thank You @AlShababSaudiFC it was a Pleasure,” the former Manchester United star wrote on his verified Instagram account.
The 32-year-old has signed a contract with Al Hilal that will last until June 2023.
“Welcome the ‘Eagle,’ Odion Ighalo,” Al Hilal said in a tweet, which included a graphic representation of the Nigerian in his team’s colors.
Mikel Obi, who played alongside Ighalo for the Super Eagles, reacted by ‘liking’ his Instagram post.
“This man…..Anywhere you go, we go follow you enter,” Oshoala wrote.
Ighalo signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Al Shabab in February 2021.
