After Barcelona’s 4-0 LaLiga El Clasico thumping of Real Madrid over the weekend, Brazil icon Ronaldo Nazario praised Xavi Hernandez’s impact at the club.
Barcelona won courtesy to a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and goals from Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, claimed he enjoyed watching LaLiga when Barcelona overcame Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, adding that the Blaugrana have progressed much since Xavi’s arrival.
Ronaldo, who had a productive season at the Nou Camp before moving on to have a fantastic five-year stay at Real Madrid, remarked to Barca TV (as quoted by Forbes): “I watch Spanish football and I love it.” With the addition of Xavi, Barca’s recent situation has significantly improved. Now I’ve seen a wonderful team in person, a highly aggressive and vertical club that presses with Barca’s classic attributes.”
“Football is not as simple as people assume,” the two-time FIFA World Cup winner added. Managing a dressing room, as well as managing people, has challenges, which you must be prepared to address. Xavi is doing fantastic.”
