FOOTBALL: Arsenal’s best player was named by Paul Merson as the cause of Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat

Merson, an Arsenal legend, has blamed Aaron Ramsdale for Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League on Wednesday.

The Reds were able to take control of the game due to the player’s ‘lazy’ error, according to him.

Despite dominating the first half at the Emirates, the Gunners conceded twice in the second half in the space of eight minutes.

Liverpool is now only one point behind league leaders in Manchester City, and Arsenal is only one point ahead of Manchester United in fourth place.

Diogo Jota put Jurgen Klopp’s team ahead with a near-post attempt that squirmed past goalkeeper David Ramsdale, who got a hand to it but couldn’t keep it out.

Merson, an Arsenal veteran, was unimpressed with the goalkeeper’s location and believes he missed the shot.

“It’s awful goalkeeping and poor defense all around,” Merson told Sky Sports.
