Watford’s manager, Claudio Ranieri, was fired on Monday, just a week after Everton’s manager, Rafa Benitez, was fired.
After sacking Ranieri just three months ago, the Hornets are now looking for their third manager in as many seasons.
Ranieri’s dismissal comes three days after Watford’s 3-0 loss to relegation rivals Norwich City.
The club is currently 19th in the Premier League table, two points off the foot of the table and two points from safety, following the departure of the veteran Italian manager.
Xisco Munoz was fired by the club in October, while the squad was 14th in the table.
“…With over half of the Premier League campaign remaining, the board believes that a change in the Head Coach post now will provide a new appointment sufficient time to work with a good group to achieve the immediate aim of retaining Premier League status,” the club stated in a statement.
Following the Premier League’s mid-season winter break, Watford will travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on February 5.
