Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea’s manager, has accepted full responsibility for his team’s Carabao Cup final loss to Liverpool on Sunday.
At Wembley Stadium, the Blues were defeated 11-10 on penalties by Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Tuchel’s late gamble backfired, and the Reds won in spectacular fashion.
In the 119th minute, Tuchel substituted Kepa Arrizabalaga for Eduoard Mendy in preparation for the shootout.
The Spaniard, on the other hand, failed to save any kicks and even missed the vital one.
“We don’t know what would’ve happened if we had left Edou on the pitch,” Tuchel stated after the game. Kepa is not to fault. I’m to blame because I’m the one who makes the decisions.
“It works out sometimes, and it doesn’t work out sometimes.” This is what it’s like to be a football coach.”
