Austin Eguavoen, the interim coach of the Super Eagles, has singled out Daniel Amartey of the Black Stars for special commendation ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup second leg playoff in Abuja on Tuesday.
Amartey was good and tough in the Ghana defense during the first leg game at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, according to Eguavoen.
On Friday night, Nigeria and Ghana drew 0-0 in the first-leg of the World Cup playoffs.
Eguavoen also stated that his men must take the game to the Black Stars in Abuja ahead of the rematch.
“We must bring the game to Ghana.” On NFF TV, Eguavoen remarked, “We attempted to take it to them yesterday, but they were tough at the back, especially the defence captained by Amartey, who was excellent.”
“However, we had two or three clear-cut chances that we should have taken, but we were not cool enough in the box.” But we’ll focus on how to get those last balls to our attackers so they may have an easy path to the goal.”
