Wayne Rooney, the manager of Derby County, has revealed that he entered management in order to one day take over at Manchester United.
After 13 trophy-laden seasons, the 36-year-old became United’s all-time greatest scorer with 253 goals.
Rooney is also a fan favorite at Everton, having progressed through the club’s system and returning for one season near the end of his career.
He, on the other hand, declined an interview for the Everton position after Rafa Benitez was fired.

“Manchester United is the whole reason in me going into management,” Rooney remarked, according to the UK Sun. For the Everton position, I was offered an interview.
“I want to be the manager of Manchester United.” I know I’m not ready right now, but I have to prepare everything I do to ensure that it happens someday.”
