Tiffany Haddish, a Hollywood actress, has defended Will Smith for hitting Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022.
On Sunday night, the audience was surprised when Will Smith rushed up to Rock and smacked him for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head.
Smith’s action was described by Haddish as “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
With Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu, the 42-year-old actress presented the Best International Feature Film award, which was won by Japan’s Drive My Car.
‘The first time I saw a Black man fight for his wife. That meant a great deal to me.
“And while the rest of the world may not approve of how it went down, it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed because it made me feel that there are still men out there that love and care about their spouses,” Haddish remarked.
She questioned why Rock, who is both Will’s and Jada’s ‘buddy,’ would do such a thing.
