R&B Upstart Brandon Breaks Out His Guitar For “Steady,” His Second Summer Offerin. The adoring, self-produced tune finds a longing Brandon singing to an aloof partner about the status of their strained relationship.
While things are murky at the moment, his love remains the same; a component he hopes is enough to get them back on equal footing.
“I know it ain’t easy / But I need you to hear me / I can’t carry this all / I can’t carry this all on me,” Brandon sings.
“Steady” follows Brandon’s July release “Cherie,” which has exceeded 143,000 streams on Spotify since then. It serves as the first single from his forthcoming untitled effort, coming soon. He’ll preview the upcoming project at the This Ain’t No Picnic Festival, held Aug. 27 and 28 in Pasadena, California.

He released his debut EP Coming Clean, in November 2020. The seven-track effort included the focus track “Baby,” which has a supporting music video self-directed alongside Taylor Werfelmann.
“Baby” is Brandon’s most popular song on Spotify, surpassing more than 6.2 million streams. The second most-in-demand track is “Miracles,” chalking up 3.3 million streams on the platform.
Brandon followed Coming Clean in July 2021 with a faithful rendition of Phoebe Bridgers’ 2020 single “Savior Complex.”
