However, the former heavyweight champion was willing to spend $100,000 to punch an animal at a zoo in order to fight it.

Tyson was offended by the 300-pound gorilla picking on fellow primates, not just any animal.

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson revealed that he allegedly made a $10,000 offer to a zookeeper to battle a gorilla.

Tyson, though, appeared to have less affection for gorillas than for big cats as he dared to combat the land animal.

According to the 56-year-old, he once visited a with his then-partner Robin Givens Tyson and hired out the whole place only to himself to watch the animals peacefully without getting mobbed by fans.

But Tyson noticed a gorilla was picking on others so he wanted to put the animal in his place by boxing it.

Tyson told said, quoted by Talk Sports. “I paid a worker at New York’s zoo to re-open it just for me and Robin. When we got to the gorilla cage, there was one big silverback gorilla there just bullying all the other gorillas. They were so powerful but their eyes were like an innocent infant.”

“I offered the attendant $10000 to open the cage and let smash that silverback’s snot box. He declined.”

The incident reportedly took place in the 1980s when Tyson was an unbeaten heavyweight champion and widely regarded as one of the most dangerous fighters on the planet.

Popularly known as Iron Man, Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion after defeating Trevor Berbick with a second-round knockout win at the age of 20.
