Davina Mccall Has Said She Will Not Return To ‘Big Brother’. The 54-year-old star – who was the host for the show’s original run on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010 – is fully supportive of the upcoming ITV2 reboot of the reality show and though she will always love the programme, she doesn’t think she’s the right person to take the helm.
Asked about the possibility, she told RadioTimes.com: “Oh, I mean, I love that programme with all of my heart.
“It made me who I am today. I had the best 11 years of my life, like all my babies were practically born on the show.
“All my babies were born in September because I couldn’t give birth during ‘Big Brother’ and I planned them all so I had my babies in September. All their birthdays are coming up now.
Davina Mccall Has Said She Will Not Return To ‘Big Brother’. “So whoever does it… I will be supporting it with every fibre in my body. But I don’t think it’s me.”
While Davina doesn’t want to be part of the new show, she would love to see her fellow ‘Masked Dancer’ judge Oti Mabuse enter the house if the celebrity version of the programme also comes back.
She said: “ITV2 get on this, did you hear that? Oti is going in. Fancy another one?”
It was recently claimed producers are keen to land ‘Love Island’ star Maura Higgins for the job.
A source said: “Producers are determined to distance themselves from former Big Brother names but the former favourite, Mo Gilligan, is now busy in the States.
“Now bosses are looking at female stars who have the strength to hold the show together, while also the warmth to gently quiz contestants in the way that Davina McCall and Emma Willis did so well. Maura is a homegrown ITV talent who has all that – plus of course looks great on screen.”
