Gucci Introduces A Beautiful New Baggage Pop-Up. Gucci is celebrating the spirit of travel this autumn, with a new pop-up shop at one of London’s most treasured hotels: The Savoy.
Inside the space – entitled Gucci Valigeria (Valigeria meaning luggage in Italian) – shoppers will find a specially curated selection of the brand’s travel offering, from trunks and suitcases to holdalls and garment bags, many of which are part of the exclusive Gucci Savoy collection (as featured in a new ad campaign starring Ryan Gosling).
The pop-up also features pieces from the Gucci Lifestyle line, incorporating everything from a particularly luxurious Gucci chess set to pet accessories and even very chic skateboards.
Gucci Introduces A Beautiful New Baggage Pop-Up. The fashion house has a long history with The Savoy, dating back to the late 1800s when a young Guccio Gucci travelled to London and worked as a porter and lift attendant at the hotel.
It was where he first fell in love with the magic of travel, inspired by all the glamorous guests that were checking in and the beautiful luggage that they toted. He later returned to Florence and founded his own artisinal luggage atelier in 1921.
Last year, the fashion house also transformed The Savoy’s Royal Suite, fitting it with Gucci furniture, furnishings and other items from the Gucci Décor collection in celebration of the brand’s 100-year anniversary, alongside specially chosen art and antiquities from auctioneers Christie’s (all available for purchase). Guests who book a stay at the suite – which spans the entire length of the hotel’s 5th floor and boasts spectacular views over the Thames – will also get access to a dedicated butler, use of The Savoy’s Rolls Royce, and other exclusive The Gucci Valigeria pop-up at The Savoy is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 7pm, and Sundays from 12pm to 6pm.
