David Beckham Has Demanded Manchester United Make Changes. The Seagulls were utterly dominant in Saturday’s Premier League clash between the two sides, with Graham Potter’s men running out 4-0 winners. It showcased the sheer scale of the challenge that is facing incoming manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman will become United’s next permanent boss following the visit of Crystal Palace in two weeks’ time. But the Red Devils’ humiliating afternoon in Brighton has given no illusions as to how much he needs to change to restore their standing.

Those changes are something that Beckham has also demanded take place over the summer, following what has been an awful campaign. The United icon believes there is much work ahead for Ten Hag when he finally arrives.

“I think there are changes to be made and changes that are happening, we’ve seen that. It’s been a tough end to the season. But it is the end of the season, I’m sure a lot of the fans are thankful of that because it’s been a tough one – full of ups and downs,” Beckham told Sky Sports.

“The players have done what they can do best, so has the manager as well. I turned up at the stadium a few months back and every seat was filled so the fans still believe, they support, they turn up for the team.

“It’s what United fans do. There’s not many other teams to have gone through what they’ve gone through in the last few years and still filling out their stadium. So that says a lot about the fans. There will be changes.”

There have been rumours that one of those changes could be the exit of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese attacker returned to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window and has arguably been United’s best player this term.

He has scored 24 goals in all competitions, but there has been some concern that he could depart when Ten Hag takes over. Beckham though hopes that does not transpire and believes he should remain at United.

“Obviously Cristiano is one of the best players over the last 15 years, with Leo [Messi]. To see him stay on, hopefully at United, is important for the fans. It’s important to him – we all know how much Man United means to him,” Beckham said.

“He’s still doing what he does best, scoring goals. That’s what Cristiano does. To be doing what he’s doing at his age is really incredible, so hopefully it continues for another year or two.”

United have just one game remaining, the visit of Crystal Palace in two weeks’ time. Once that match is out of the way, the Red Devils can put their full focus into the changes Beckham and Ten Hag would like to see.
